Maria Claudia Jaramillo Torres

I am a Colombian psychologist, having graduated from the Catholic University of Colombia with solid post-graduate training in clinical psychology. My specialization focuses on the understanding and treatment of anxiety and behavioural disorders, mainly using the cognitive-behavioural approach.

In the course of my initial training and professional experience, I developed a thorough understanding of the principles and techniques of cognitive-behavioural therapy, applying them to the assessment, diagnosis and intervention of a variety of clinical problems. My interest in providing comprehensive care tailored to each client’s individual needs led me to explore and adopt other psychotherapeutic approaches, particularly humanistic ones, and to attend seminars and workshops in neuropsychology.

Currently, in my professional practice as a psychology intern, I integrate the knowledge and tools of cognitive-behavioural psychotherapy with the principles and person-centered vision of the humanistic approach. This openness enables me to offer a flexible, personalized psychotherapeutic approach that focuses not only on modifying dysfunctional thoughts and behaviours, but also fosters personal growth, self-understanding and the search for meaning in my patients’ lives. My commitment is to accompany people on their journey towards emotional well-being, considering the complexity of their subjective experience and fostering their capacity for self-discovery and change.
