RIVO – INTERNSHIPS
Each year, RIVO welcomes psychology and psychotherapy interns and trainees through
internship programmes approved by the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ) and
universities, including doctoral students in psychology and candidates for equivalence (psychologist and psychotherapist certification).
LOGISTICS
- Direct contact with clients (clinical interviews with clients) ;
- Direct observation (observing psychological assessments carried out by experienced psychologists) ;
- Supervision by experienced psychologists ;
- Exchange with other therapists and trainees from RIVO ;
- Possibility of consulting the psychosocial team regarding certain patient needs (legal issues, housing, etc.) and available community resources ;
- Access to documentary resources and scientific literature ;
- Participation in clinical meetings, co-development meetings, or group interventions.
OBJECTIVES
RIVO is recognized as a suitable internship and work experience placement for :
- Develop clinical assessment and diagnostic formulation skills with clients presenting complex trauma in an intercultural context ;
- Develop clinical interventions tailored to refugees and asylum seekers, taking into account their experiences of exile, uprooting and identity reconstruction ;
- Understanding and applying ethical and professional principles ;
- Acquire the skills necessary to ensure the quality of professional services in clinical psychology.
