RIVO: Intervention network for persons affected by organized violence

Thirty committed therapists.
A multicultural team motivated by social justice.
Hundreds of asylum seekers and refugees helped each year.

RIVO promotes the rehabilitation and integration of new arrivals and any other person who has been traumatized by organized violence, whether of political, social, criminal, identity-based, or religious origin.

Our AGM was a success !

Our AGM was held on March 27 at the CLAM. We took the time to celebrate the past year’s work, to reflect on the future, and to highlight the human richness of the organization.

In the words of our President, “RIVO is much more than an organization: it’s a space for mediation, a place to meet, share and travel. It’s a movement. A collective breath directed towards reconstruction and recovery, towards rediscovering dignity, towards putting life back in its place. (…) ”

Our services

We help asylum seekers and refugees affected by organized violence who present significant symptoms of psychological distress and wish to speak to a mental health professional.
We also offer training, coaching and workshops to organizations and stakeholders.

Individual Support

We work mainly with asylum seekers and refugees, offering them individual therapeutic support. When you access our services, we put you in touch with a social worker who will assess your needs.

Group Activities

We also carry out group interventions through craft activities, as a complement to psychotherapeutic activities. While waiting for or in addition to being matched with a therapist, you can take part in our group activities, such as crafts, employability activities, telephone twinning, etc.

Support for Organizations and Support Workers

Our dedicated team of mental health professionals provides our partners, support workers and organizations with coaching, workshops and training sessions on issues related to trauma and torture.

Our clients need you.

They have suffered torture, rape or persecution because of their social or political commitment, sexual orientation or religion.

They then found refuge with us in the hope of starting a new life.

Psychological support is the first step towards their well-being and integration into our society.
