« AIDER LES AIDANTS »
In partnership with the Service d’éducation et d’intégration interculturelle de Montréal (SEIIM), RIVO aims to support and equip workers in community organizations to better accompany asylum seekers, refugees and immigrants who have undergone complex trauma situations, linked to past experiences that are intensified by immigration difficulties and exacerbated by isolation.
LOGISTICS
- Each month, a topic will be proposed by RIVO, SEIIM or a community stakeholder
- The meeting will take place online (ZOOM)
- 1 Friday / month, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m
- Each session is co-facilitated by a therapist and support worker
- Maximum 12 participants per meeting
- Possibility of consulting a psychiatrist (if required)
- N.B. Every 3 sessions, 1 special session is offered to non-regular support workers dealing with complex situations
OBJECTIVES
- Bring together a group of professionals (psychologists, psychotherapists, social workers and community workers)
- Analyze complex situations together (immigration, integration into a new society, trauma, psychological distress, bereavement, parent-child intergenerational issues, etc.) presented by the participants
- Facilitate the sharing of experiences and intervention strategies
